Can I buy blood or pay a donor?
No. Paying for blood is illegal in India. Licensed centres may charge regulated processing fees, but buying or selling blood itself, or paying a “donor”, is against the law and unsafe.
What documents do I need to get blood issued?
The requisition slip from the treating doctor (group and component written on it), the patient or attendant ID where the centre asks, and, if you are donating as replacement, your own ID with the donor consent form.
